Absolutely! We can order any book in print and most out-of-print titles. In-print books typically arrive within 3-5 business days. For rare or out-of-print editions, our specialist James Reed will conduct a search and provide an estimate. Call us or email orders@chapterandverse.com.
Yes, we selectively purchase used books in good condition. Bring your books to the shop during business hours, and our team will evaluate them. We offer store credit (at 40% of resale value) or cash (at 25%). We're particularly interested in literary fiction, poetry, art books, and academic texts.
Our book club meets on the last Thursday of each month at 7pm. There's no membership fee. Simply show up! We announce the monthly selection on our website and social media at the start of each month. Members get 15% off the book club pick.
Yes! We host 200+ events per year, including author readings, book signings, panel discussions, and writing workshops. Most events are free. Check our Events page for the current calendar.
Yes! Gift cards are available in-store in any amount from $10 to $500. They're valid for books, cafe purchases, and event tickets. They never expire. We also offer beautifully wrapped gift book packages if you'd like us to curate a selection.
There's metered parking on Wordsworth Lane and a public parking garage on Elm Street, a 3-minute walk. The Harvard Square T station (Red Line) is a 5-minute walk. We're also on multiple bus routes. Bike racks are available in front of the shop.
