Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of the Chapter & Verse website and your purchases from our bookshop.

1. Purchases

All purchases are final upon completion of payment. Prices are in US dollars and include applicable sales tax for Massachusetts residents. We accept major credit cards, cash, and Chapter & Verse gift cards.

2. Returns & Exchanges

Books may be returned within 14 days of purchase with a receipt, provided they are in original condition. Rare books, special orders, and sale items are non-returnable. We offer exchanges or store credit for returned items.

3. Special Orders

Special orders require a non-refundable deposit of 50% at the time of order. Orders typically arrive within 3-5 business days for in-print titles. We will contact you upon arrival. Orders not picked up within 30 days may be returned to stock.

4. Events

Most events are free and open to the public. Ticketed events have their own cancellation policies noted at the time of purchase. We reserve the right to cancel or reschedule events, in which case full refunds will be issued.

5. Gift Cards

Gift cards are non-refundable and do not expire. Lost or stolen cards cannot be replaced unless the original receipt is provided. Gift cards may be used for any purchase including cafe items.

6. Website Use

The content on our website is for informational purposes. Book descriptions, prices, and availability are subject to change. We make reasonable efforts to ensure accuracy but cannot guarantee it.

7. Intellectual Property

All content on this website, including text, images, and design, is the property of Chapter & Verse and may not be reproduced without written permission.

8. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Middlesex County, MA.
