It Started with a Dream
In 1999, our founder Maria Rodriguez started roasting coffee in her garage in Portland, Oregon. What began as a hobby quickly turned into a passion that would change her life and the lives of thousands of coffee lovers.
Maria believed that great coffee should be accessible to everyone. She traveled to coffee farms around the world, building relationships with farmers and learning about their craft. These connections allowed her to source the finest beans while ensuring fair prices and sustainable practices.
Today, Artisan Coffee Roastery operates three cafes in Portland and ships our carefully roasted beans to customers across the country. We still roast in small batches using the same vintage German roaster Maria bought in 2002, and we still maintain those same direct relationships with farmers.
