Getting Started

How do I create an account?

Creating a CloudSync Pro account is quick and easy:

  1. Click "Get Started" or "Sign Up" at the top of the page
  2. Enter your email address and create a secure password
  3. Verify your email address through the confirmation link we send
  4. Download our desktop or mobile apps to start syncing files

You can also sign up using your Google, Microsoft, or Apple account for faster onboarding.

What devices are supported?

CloudSync Pro works seamlessly across all your devices:

  • Desktop: Windows 10+, macOS 11+, Linux (Ubuntu, Fedora, Debian)
  • Mobile: iOS 14+, Android 10+
  • Web: Any modern browser (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge)

How do I upload files?

There are multiple ways to upload files to CloudSync Pro:

  • Desktop App: Drag and drop files into your CloudSync folder, or right-click files and select "Upload to CloudSync"
  • Web Interface: Click the "Upload" button and select files from your computer, or drag files directly into your browser
  • Mobile App: Tap the "+" button and choose files from your device or take photos directly
  • Email: Forward files to your unique CloudSync email address

Pricing & Billing

How much storage do I get?

Storage allocation varies by plan:

  • Free: 10GB
  • Pro: 2TB (2,000GB)
  • Team: 5TB (5,000GB) per user
  • Enterprise: Starts at 10TB with unlimited scaling

All plans include version history and deleted file recovery for 30 days.

Can I change plans anytime?

Yes! You can upgrade or downgrade your plan at any time:

  • Upgrading: Takes effect immediately. You'll be charged a prorated amount for the remainder of your billing cycle.
  • Downgrading: Takes effect at the end of your current billing cycle. Your data remains accessible during the transition.

Note: If downgrading would put you over your storage limit, you'll need to delete files before the change takes effect.

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept all major payment methods:

  • Credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover)
  • Debit cards
  • PayPal
  • Apple Pay and Google Pay
  • Bank transfer (Enterprise plans only)
  • Purchase orders (Enterprise plans only)

All payments are processed securely through Stripe with PCI DSS Level 1 compliance.

Is there a free trial?

Yes! We offer a 14-day free trial of our Pro plan with no credit card required. During the trial, you'll have access to:

  • Full 2TB of storage
  • Unlimited device sync
  • Advanced sharing features
  • Priority support
  • All Pro features with no limitations

After your trial ends, you can choose to upgrade to a paid plan or continue with our Free plan (10GB storage).

Security

Is my data encrypted?

Yes, CloudSync Pro uses military-grade encryption to protect your data:

  • In Transit: All data transfers use TLS 1.3 encryption (the same technology banks use)
  • At Rest: Files are encrypted using AES-256 encryption on our servers
  • Zero-Knowledge (Enterprise): Optional end-to-end encryption where only you hold the decryption keys

We are SOC 2 Type II certified and undergo regular third-party security audits.

Where are my files stored?

Your files are stored in enterprise-grade data centers with redundant backups:

  • Primary data centers in the US, EU, and Asia-Pacific
  • Automatic geo-redundant backups across multiple regions
  • 99.9% uptime SLA guaranteed
  • Enterprise customers can choose specific data center locations for compliance

All data centers are ISO 27001 certified with 24/7 physical security and monitoring.

Can I enable two-factor authentication?

Yes! We highly recommend enabling two-factor authentication (2FA) for added security. Supported methods include:

  • Authenticator apps (Google Authenticator, Authy, 1Password)
  • SMS verification codes
  • Hardware security keys (YubiKey, Titan Security Key)
  • Biometric authentication (Touch ID, Face ID)

To enable 2FA, go to Settings → Security → Two-Factor Authentication.

How does file sharing work?

CloudSync Pro offers flexible sharing options:

  • Share Links: Generate password-protected links with expiration dates
  • Email Invites: Invite people directly to view or edit files
  • Team Folders: Create shared folders with granular permission controls
  • Public Folders: Share folders publicly with custom branding (Pro and above)

All shares can be tracked with detailed analytics showing views, downloads, and edit history.

Can I recover deleted files?

Yes! CloudSync Pro keeps deleted files for 30 days (Free plan) or 180 days (Pro and above):

  • Access your trash folder from any device
  • Restore individual files or entire folders
  • Permanently delete files before the retention period ends
  • Admin controls for team-wide file recovery

Enterprise plans can configure custom retention periods up to 7 years for compliance.

Does CloudSync support offline access?

Yes! You can access your files offline with our Smart Sync feature:

  • Desktop: Mark files/folders as "Always Keep Offline" to cache them locally
  • Mobile: Download files for offline access with automatic sync when back online
  • Smart Caching: Frequently accessed files are automatically cached

Changes made offline will automatically sync when you reconnect to the internet.

What file types are supported?

CloudSync Pro supports all file types with no restrictions. Popular formats include:

  • Documents: PDF, DOCX, XLSX, PPTX, TXT, MD
  • Images: JPG, PNG, GIF, SVG, HEIC, RAW
  • Videos: MP4, MOV, AVI, MKV (up to 4K resolution)
  • Audio: MP3, WAV, FLAC, M4A
  • Archives: ZIP, RAR, 7Z, TAR
  • Code: JS, PY, HTML, CSS, and 100+ programming languages

Individual file size limit: 50GB (Free), 100GB (Pro/Team), unlimited (Enterprise).
