Frequently Asked Questions

Find answers to common questions about visiting, tours, shipping, and our spirits.

Tours & Visits

Do I need to book tours in advance?

While walk-ins are welcome based on availability, we strongly recommend booking in advance, especially on weekends and holidays. Private tastings and group tours (6+ people) require reservations at least 48 hours in advance.

What are your hours of operation?

We're open Monday through Saturday from 10am to 6pm, and Sunday from 12pm to 5pm. The last tour begins one hour before closing. We're closed on major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's Day).

Is the distillery accessible?

Our visitor center, tasting room, and gift shop are fully ADA accessible. Due to the historic nature of our distillery buildings (built in 1892), some areas have limited accessibility. Please call ahead to discuss any specific needs.

Can children come on tours?

Children are welcome on distillery tours but must be accompanied by an adult. Only guests 21+ with valid ID may participate in tastings. We offer non-alcoholic beverages for underage visitors.

Shipping & Orders

Where do you ship?

We ship to most US states where legal. Some states have restrictions on alcohol shipments. During checkout, you'll see if we can ship to your location. International shipping is available to select countries.

How long does shipping take?

Standard shipping takes 3-5 business days. Expedited shipping (2-day) is available at checkout. Orders are processed within 1-2 business days. Adult signature (21+) is required for all deliveries.

Is shipping free?

Orders of $150 or more ship free within the continental US. Standard shipping for smaller orders starts at $14.99.

Our Spirits

What makes bourbon different from whiskey?

All bourbon is whiskey, but not all whiskey is bourbon. Bourbon must be made in the USA, contain at least 51% corn, be aged in new charred oak barrels, and meet specific proof requirements. Kentucky bourbon has an additional distinction of being made with our region's unique limestone-filtered water.

How should I store my whiskey?

Store bottles upright in a cool, dark place away from direct sunlight. Unlike wine, whiskey doesn't improve with age in the bottle. Once opened, whiskey will slowly oxidize over time, so try to enjoy it within 1-2 years for best quality.

What's the best way to drink bourbon?

There's no wrong way! Many prefer it neat or with a few drops of water to open up the flavors. On the rocks is popular, though ice can mute some subtleties. Our spirits also make excellent cocktails. The best way is however you enjoy it most.
