Our Story

Crafted with Intention

Founded in 2018, Earthen Studio emerged from a passion for preserving traditional pottery techniques while embracing contemporary design. Each piece tells a story of patience, skill, and the transformative power of fire and earth.

We believe in slow creation, sustainable practices, and celebrating the unique beauty that comes from working by hand. Every imperfection is a reminder that these pieces are made with care by human hands.

Our Craft

From Clay to Creation

Each piece goes through a thoughtful process, taking 2-3 weeks from start to finish.

1

Wedging

Clay is kneaded to remove air bubbles and create consistent texture, preparing it for shaping.

2

Shaping

Using wheel-throwing or hand-building techniques, each piece is carefully formed with intention.

3

Drying

Pieces dry slowly and evenly to prevent cracking, reaching leather-hard then bone-dry states.

4

Bisque Firing

First firing at 1830°F transforms clay into permanent ceramic, preparing it for glaze.

5

Glazing

Hand-mixed glazes are applied through dipping, brushing, or pouring for unique finishes.

6

Glaze Firing

Final firing at 2232°F melts the glaze, creating beautiful, food-safe, durable surfaces.
